Creation of models has never been easier - intuitive drawing commands allow for the rapid generation of floor and elevation framing.

CAD drawings can be converted directly into ETABS models or used as templates onto which ETABS objects may be overlaid.

The state-of-the-art SAPFire 64-bit solver allows extremely large and complex models to be rapidly analyzed.

Overview

The innovative and revolutionary new ETABS is the ultimate integrated software package for the structural analysis and design of buildings.

ETABS v21.0.0 – v21.0.1 enhancements

DETAILING

Detailing of concrete and steel structures, as well as the production and management of schematic design drawings, is now available from a new Detailing menu inside ETABS. It can now handle multiple towers as well.
Detailed reinforcement from beams, slabs, column stacks, and wall stacks can now be exported from ETABS to Autodesk® Revit® through the CSiXRevitTM 2023 plugin to Revit 2023.

STRUCTURAL MODEL

Tributary PT tendons are now accounted for in finite element-based design of slabs and cracked-slab deflection analysis (short- and long-term).

LOADING

Auto-wind load, auto-seismic load, and response-spectrum function based on NBCC 2020 have been added.
Auto-wind load, auto-seismic load, and response-spectrum function based on ASCE 7-22 have been added.
Loads assigned to null lines and null areas applied in any local or global direction are now transferred to the underlying structural floors. In earlier versions only loads in the gravity direction were transferred.

DESIGN

AS 4100:2020 steel frame design has been added.
Eurocode 4-2004 composite column design has been added.

OUTPUT AND DISPLAY

Cracked-section modifiers for beam and floor objects are now included in the database tables.
Nonlinear shear-material state and status output for general wall hinges is now available in the database tables, deformed shape display, and performance-check output.

DATABASE TABLES

Performance-check definitions can now be edited when the model is locked and selected for associated tabular output.

APPLICATION PROGRAMMING INTERFACE (API)

Support for .NET 6 has been added including a help topic in the “Key Concepts” folder.

ETABS v20.0.0 enhancements

SAPFire® Analysis Engine

CSI Solvers have been tried and tested by the industry for over 45 years.

The SAPFire Analysis Engine can support multiple 64-bit solvers for analysis optimization and perform both eigen analysis and Ritz analysis.

Parallelization options are available to take advantage of multiple processors.

ETABS offers a single user interface to perform modeling, analysis, design, and reporting. There is no limit to the number of model windows, model manipulation views, and data views.

Interactive Database Editing

CSI software stores model data and other information in database tables which may be edited directly through interactive database editing. This powerful feature allows models to be developed or edited quickly.

Utilize Interactive Design Capabilities to Maximize Efficiency

Design of steel frames, concrete frames, concrete slabs, concrete shear walls, composite beams, composite columns and steel joists can be performed based on a variety of US and international design codes.

BIM Interoperability

With CSI software, collaboration between different AEC teams is handled efficiently through compatibility with other BIM software.

Analysis

Stiffness solution has been parallelized to further speed-up nonlinear static and direct-integration time-history load cases.
Tabular output for element nonlinear energy and base reactions is now much faster for load cases with many output steps.

Loading

NBCC 2015 wind load now supports the dynamic procedure for Open and Rough Terrain using the exposure factor Ce. Wind-load calculations are now available in the project report.

ETABS 19.0.0 Enhancements

Structural Model

The special requirements applied to the steel beam-column connections using the proprietary SidePlate® Systems have been updated to the latest version.
The Korean common rebar set is now available when defining reinforcing bar sizes.

Loading

Auto lateral loading has been added per the Korean KDS 41 17 00:2019 code, including seismic load and response-spectrum functions.
Auto lateral loading has been added per the NTC 2018 code, including wind load, seismic load, and response-spectrum functions.

Performance-Based Design

The event-to-event analysis method has been improved for better handling of equilibrium unbalances. Additional controls are available for this non-iterative method.
The speed of solution using the multi-threaded solver has been substantially increased for direct-integration time-history and other multi-step load cases.
The recovery of plotted and tabular results from nonlinear static and direct-integration load cases is now significantly faster. Results include deformed shape, force and stress values, and hinge states.
The parametric PMM hinge has been enhanced to provide better convergence behavior in sensitive systems.

Analysis

Short-term and long-term cracked-deflections can now be calculated for concrete floors. The rebar used for the cracking calculation is based on either provided rebar, designed rebar, or a quick rebar overwrite.

Concrete Frame Design

Concrete frame design has been added per the ACI 318-19 code.
Composite column design has been added per the AISC 360-16 code.

External Import/Export

Perform®3D model files can now be imported into ETABS. Most elements, cross-section properties, mass, loads, and load cases will be imported and translated. Certain types of nonlinear components will also be transferred, and a report will be produced of what was translated.

Steel Frame Design

Numerous enhancements have been implemented for Russian SP 16.13330.2017 steel frame design.

Graphics

DirectX 2D is now used for plan and elevation views, providing faster and clearer rendering, improved line quality, and True Type fonts.

Application Programming Interface (API)

The API can now start and control instances of ETABS on remote computers, including the retrieval of results. This enables distributed processing for running large suites of Performance-based Design histories, extensive parameter studies, and Monte Carlo simulations.

Shear Wall Design

Shear wall design has been added per the ACI 318-19 code.

Database Tables

The automatic tabular output after analysis can now be directed to multiple files. Each file can produce a different set of tables and can apply to a different group.

Cloud Licensing

Cloud-based licensing is now standard for ETABS.
